وفاقی حکومت کو آئین کے تقاضے کے مطابق ہر دس سال میں ایک بار ریاستہائے متحدہ میں رہنے والے ہر شخص کی گنتی کرنی لازمی ہے اور یہ اس کام کو مردم شماری کے توسط سے انجام دیتی ہے۔
عمر، نسل، مذہب یا ترک وطنی کی حیثیت سے قطع نظر مکمل شمولیت اس کا ہدف ہے - اس میں ہر شخص کو حصہ لینا چاہیے۔
ہر شخص کی شمولیت اس وجہ سے ضروری ہے کہ مردم شماری کابراہ راست اثر ہر سال وفاقی فنڈ میں 400 بلّین ڈالر سے زیادہ رقم کی تقسیم پر پڑتا ہے، جس میں نگہداشت صحت، تعلیم اور سماجی خدمت کے پروگرامز شامل ہیں۔ہر شخص کی گنتی ہوجانے کا مطلب یہ ہےکہ وفاقی پروگرام کے فنڈ میں مزید 1400 ڈالر ہمارے معاشرے کے لئے مختص ہوجائیں گے۔

مردم شماری میں آپ کی شمولیت آسان ہے۔ مارچ 2010 میں سبھی امریکی گھرانوں کو ڈاک سے فارم بھیجا جائے گا۔ ہر گھرانے کو وہ مردم شماری فارم مکمل کرکے 1 اپریل 2010 تک واپس کرنا ضروری ہے۔

Bus ads will run across the state of California with Census messages translated into 13 different API languages. There are seven distinct bus ads with translated messages specifically designed for the ethnic communities in their respective regions. For more information, go to www.apicount.com.

Description: With funding from the State of New York, the Asian American Federation adapted the messaging from the bus ads of the APICOUNT campaign for use in New York State. These ads were scheduled to be up for 4 weeks starting March 8, 2010. The telephone hotlines run through the Federation’s partners were included on the ads. The partners were the Council of Peoples Organization and the NYC South Asian Task Force (Adhikaar, Chhaya CDC, SEVA Immigrant Advocacy Project, South Asian Council for Social Services, South Asian Youth Action). The ads were designed by Fresh Concentrate.

The Chinese Christian Herald Crusades, Council of Peoples Organization, Indochina Sino-American Community Center, Japanese American Social Services, Inc., MinKwon Center for Community Action, and the NYC South Asian Task Force (Adhikaar, Chhaya CDC, SEVA Immigrant Advocacy Project, South Asian Council for Social Services, South Asian Youth Action) established local telephone hotlines in 15 languages. The Asian American Federation provided funding support for these hotlines and place transit ads (found elsewhere on fillinourfuture.org) to promote the hotlines.
